NIBS aims to accelerate use of building information modeling

It’s aiming to change that by creating a building information modeling (BIM) standard.

BIM virtually builds structures in a digital environment before the project is completed in the real world. NIBS wants to accelerate the process and see the U.S. construction industry adopting it fully.

“The U.S. National BIM Program will be successful through collaboration between public and private sectors and across the diversity of project stakeholders, namely owners, designers, constructors, suppliers, vendors and other involved parties,” said Stephen T. Ayers, interim CEO of NIBS, in a press release about the initiative.
