Increasing efficiency in aggregate production

Montabert, Lehnhoff and Tramac team up to show commitment to quarry and other operations during World of Asphalt and AGG1

The World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo saw attendance of more than 11,500 during the three-day event, where exhibitors displayed a variety of products and technology. Montabert, Lehnhoff and Tramac (Komatsu-owned companies) exhibited several products that can be useful in the aggregate industry.

Montabert showcased its V32 hydraulic rock breaker mounted on a Komatsu PC290LCi-11 intelligent machine control (IMC) excavator. The V32 is a high-performance tool designed for demanding applications such as demolition, excavation and quarrying. Its innovative automatic speed variation system enables the breaker to adjust impact energy and striking rate based on material hardness, enhancing efficiency and productivity. Advanced features, including an energy recovery system and blank-firing protection, help ensure reliable operation while reducing wear and tear on the breaker and carrier.

The V32 is designed to enhance operator safety and convenience with its fully enclosed cradle that minimizes noise and protects against debris. The patented tool protection system is built to extend the lifespan of wear parts, while the automatic lubrication system helps reduce maintenance needs. Designed for excavators in the 39,700-pound to 66,150-pound range, the V32 is a versatile solution for heavy-duty tasks.

Montabert also included information about the Tramac pedestal boom with a 180-degree swing arc.

“We have a wide variety of attachments that are proven productive in several applications, including quarries where it’s necessary to break rocks into manageable sizes with a breaker,” said Tim Millsaps, Southeast District Manager, Montabert. “Quarry, aggregate production, demolition, construction — Montabert has all those covered as well as others.”

Pulverizers for demanding applications

Montabert highlighted HCP 850/1000 hydraulic pulverizers designed for demanding demolition, recycling and steel bar clearing applications. These tools enable efficient on-site crushing and separation of materials, designed to reduce waste and enhance productivity.

The HCP series features heavy-duty construction with high-strength steel, making it ideal for handling tough materials while maintaining durability. Its integrated speed valve helps ensure faster cycle times, to help improve operational efficiency.

HCP pulverizers are compatible with carriers in the 33,000-pound to 88,000-pound range, providing flexibility across various jobsites.

Fully automatic symmetric quick coupler system

Lehnhoff displayed its SQ-V fully automatic symmetric quick coupler system that enables operators to change rigid and hydraulic attachments without leaving the cab, designed to enhance safety and productivity. Its symmetric design and patented valve technology facilitate seamless attachment changes, reducing downtime during short working cycles. The system also helps optimize your operations’ services by supporting various attachments in backhoe and shovel modes.

The SQ-V’s advanced valve technology helps ensure precise hydraulic connections with minimal pressure loss and low heat generation. The system’s robust construction and integrated depressurization unit also help improve durability and reduce maintenance costs, making it an efficient solution for construction, demolition and land development projects.

“In addition to our display, Montabert has grapples, shears and more in a wide range of size classes to fit practically any need,” stated Millsaps. “Our goal is to partner with customers to help them solve any issues they might have. We’re here to help increase their productivity.”

World of Asphalt and AGG1 will return in New Orleans from March 15-17, 2027.
