Terramac’s new Trackunit telematics system provides extensive tracking and data collection for more effective fleet management
Fleet management is a critical component of your equipment’s longevity. Companies increasingly are turning to advanced telematics systems such as Trackunit, for
the wealth of information and convenience they provide.
Trackunit gives dealers and end users alike a holistic view of their Terramac crawler carriers’ performances for improved fleet management, maintenance and service. Trackunit is now standard on all new Terramac models, and it can be retrofitted to older units.
“Telematics have proven to drastically reduce fleet management costs,” said Dell Howen, Director of Product Support & Warranty with Terramac. “Telematics give you the ability to view your equipment from practically anywhere and at any time with monitoring capabilities like never before. You can be more proactive in scheduling maintenance or service, and address potential issues faster.”
Trackunit telematics uses GPS for extensive tracking and data collection, allowing carriers to be monitored on-site or from afar. The location services make both large- and small-scale equipment management more convenient and effective, so you can manage a larger service area while minimizing the risk of lost or stolen equipment.
Set maintenance alerts
Live machine and engine data streams are readily available through Trackunit dashboards for diagnosis, service and repair information. Tracking live carrier data alerts owners and operators of possible issues early on, so preventative measures can be taken to safeguard your carriers. The advanced notice also provides more preparation time for maintenance, ensuring proper planning for these activities.
Trackunit supports CAN data feeds and reporting, so pertinent carrier information can be made available at a moment’s notice. Fleet managers can set alerts for scheduled and preventative maintenance, creating a more efficient workflow that capatilizes on uptime.
“Trackunit telematics subscriptions are included for new Terramac carriers and we offer options for used units,” said Howen. “Long term analysis of your equipment data is advantageous for providing the most comprehensive look at your carriers which is why Terramac includes a 3-year subscription on new units, a 1-year subscription on aftermarket devices, and optional subscription extensions for both. We encourage anyone with a new Terramac crawler carrier or anyone considering acquiring one to familiarize themselves with Trackunit for improved fleet management, or add it on to their existing machines.”
